CHALLENGE:
Engage current and prospective BlackBerry investors and cybersecurity industry analysts with a video to kick off the annual investor and analyst event. Develop a credible storyline that instills confidence and assures our critically important audience the company is heading in the right direction.
SOLUTION:
I developed a storyline that focused on people to elevate human context. I felt like that was missing from most of the BlackBerry marketing messaging. It was important to me to convey that BlackBerry above all else, exists for the benefit of humankind. They’re not here to develop tech in a cold, dark vacuum. By weaving the relationship between people, cybersecurity, and the Internet of Things together for many people in our audience who aren’t tech experts, the storyline opens the door to what sets BlackBerry apart, why we’re here, and why it matters.
RESULTS:
This was a highly collaborative effort with the internal BlackBerry video team, the CMO, CEO, and other senior executives. The video was praised by them, across BlackBerry, and well-received by the investors and analysts. The video was then repurposed for the BlackBerry Security Summit–the most important company sponsored event of the year.
